Audiobook Recording Package

COBRA Music Studios is a contemporary recording studio specialising in audiobook production. We are integrated into the heart of the Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre in Newport, South Wales which is conveniently located within a 2 minute walk of Newport Bus Station and a 6 minute walk from Newport Train Station, with direct routes to Cardiff, Bristol and London.

During the COVID pandemic, working remotely became the new normal, and we have subsequently worked with producers from around the globe via softwares such as ipDTL and Source Connect. This way of remote working opened doors to collaborating with companies such as Hachette and Penguin Books to produce audiobooks on their behalf with their clients located nearer to us than them.

Our studio live room presents a beautiful intimate space, that is perfect for capturing and expressing your creativity. Ambient lighting creates the perfect atmosphere for your audiobook recording, and our bespoke gobos and acoustic panels from Blue Frog Audio in North Wales create the perfect tone. In the control room of the studio, we have a mixture of analogue and digital equipment, utilising hybrid recording techniques to get the best sound for your audiobook. At the helm of the control room is our dual Slate Raven MTi system, which is always a talking point with clients.

This audiobook recording package consists of:

30,000 words = one day audio recording or two x four hour sittings at our studio in Newport, South Wales as well as one and a half days of post production editing

60,000 words = two days audio recording or four x four hour sittings at our studio in Newport, South Wales as well as three days of post production editing

Between 25,000-30,000 words is on average the word count that is recorded per day. Additional recording time is charged at £40.00 per hour, or £280.00 per day.
