A Tribute to Mario Lanza from Alan J Preston

We have been lucky to work with Alan on numerous projects in the past. Alan first came into the studio with Bethany Jones to record some musical theatre duets. Alan came in further to record with us ‘A Tribute to Mario Lanza’. We saw a completely different side to Alan’s voice in this session and were absolutely blown away!

Alan spoke to Stargazer Music Magazine who said: "I've always admired Mario Lanza’s voice from a young age when hearing my Mother's vinyl albums of his sublime voice. He was widely recognised as the first "Classical Crossover" artist with his work in films, and making the operatic repertoire available to the general public. As a crossover artist myself, I feel it particularly appropriate that I should celebrate his voice and music in 2021, in what would have been Lanza's 100th year".

Since the lockdown, Alan has been publishing videos frequently across the internet, with covers from musicals to more classical pieces, which he has recorded from home with a fantastic following.

“Amazing experience recording with COBRA Music Studios today, they are true professionals, very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them! It was a pleasure to record there today, looking forward to going back shortly to do some more. Excited to see the final cut now!”
