Women of Newport

We were proud to support the Women of Newport for their event at The Place, Newport on the 20th May. We provided a PA system with four microphones set up for an informal panel discussion, as well as audience microphones for a Q&A with the panel. We also rigged a recording interface for a videographer to have control of the audio files for a documentary style video.

The event was funded by Our Voice, Our Choice, Our City. It was a bridge building event for everyone, with the touch of Polish heritage, hospitality and with the exhibition about 10 local Polish women who came here with nothing and now living their amazing lives and to inspire.

We talked about many subjects, we had some guests coming from London and Cardiff, we had Polish food, booklet designed by us with articles and stories. We linked with leaders of different communities from Newport and Cardiff and we are planning to continue our campaign so the voice of different ethnic minorities can be heard.

You can take a look on the Women of Newport website for more information on the event and what they do, as well as find a booklet and the recorded panel discussion which will be available soon www.womenofnewport.co.uk.
