Sing Up

Every year since 2010, Sing Up has set aside an extra special day to celebrate the power of song and spread a little singing. The next Sing Up Day will be Wednesday 28 June 2023. Join us for our thirteenth global singing event, and help us spread even more singing.

From the UK to the UAE and Singapore to Spain, schools and singers around the whole world join us each year on Sing Up Day. Every year, we commission a brand-new Sing Up Day anthem with resources and activity ideas to help you integrate the song into your school day, and help put singing at the heart of your school life.

The theme for Sing Up Day 2023 is Global voice and the things that connect us – the earth, the sea, and the air we breathe. This year we have gone a step further than we usually do, and after an open call out to search for a new songwriter to work with, we have commissioned three songs from songwriters based in New Zealand, South Africa and Wales.

It has been fantastic to collaborate with Sing Up and the amazing Laura Bradshaw and Joseff Gnagbo to produce their piece ‘Dreams across the ocean’ for Sing Up Day 2023! Featuring the brilliant vocalist Amy Jenkins as well as Laura and Joseff themselves. It has been a pleasure to work alongside Publishing Manager for Sing Up, Beth Millett to create this fantastic track and the resources to fit in with the piece.

At Sing Up, we know that taking part in musical activity brings about positive benefits for individuals, communities, schools and society in general. Singing specifically supports learning, personal and social development, promotes health and well-being and bonds communities of people like no other activity.

At Sing Up, we're primarily focussed on how music and singing build those neural pathways in young children. There's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do this, and we want every child - without exception - to benefit from that. This is our starting point for all that we do...
